Beneath The Planet of the Apes

The inspiration for this project began
following an article on Priscilla
The Monkey Girl, who was born with
hair on her face, bullied throughout
childhood and worked for years in the circus.
Nevertheless, she still found room for love
in her life (she married Alligator man).

Beneath the Planet of the Apes is a
project about acceptance, hope and
the search for true happiness. The project
brings together the idea of both good
and bad things having their inevitable place
in the order of things. The project not only
deals with issues such as solitary
childhood and the discomfort of looking
different as a child, however it also talks
about the positive side particularly highlighting
the family as a symbol for happiness and
safeness and that which keeps us individuals
together in a difficult and harsh world.
